I create a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental space for my clients where we work as a team to find workable, effective solutions for you. Don’t have time to cook fresh meals every day? Not ready to give up an unhealthy habit? Not big on the whole meditation and spirituality thing? Don’t even know where to start? No problem!
I endeavour to build plans that not only suit you, but actually bring you joy. After all, we’re not looking for quick fixes or yet another unachievable to-do-list, but for long-lasting, sustainable results. And I’m here to support you every step of the way.
What is Ayurveda
and how does it work?
Ayurveda is an ancient holistic health system that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It is based on the principle that health is achieved by maintaining balance of the body’s three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—which represent different combinations of the five elements: air, water, fire, earth, and space.
As an Ayurvedic Practitioner, I will work with you to assess your unique constitution and identify any imbalances that may cause disease or discomfort. Importantly, the focus is on identifying and addressing the root cause of your health concerns and thereby achieving long-term results.
Based on my findings I will recommend a treatment plan that is tailored to you. This will include dietary adjustments, lifestyle recommendations and herbal remedies.
The Earth element represents stability, structure, and nourishment. It forms the solid components of the body, such as bones, muscles, nails, and hair. Earth provides grounding and physical strength, making it essential for growth and endurance.
When the Earth element is excessive, it can lead to:
- Weight gain and heaviness
- Lethargy and sluggish digestion
- Congestion and mucus buildup
- Stiffness in joints and muscles
When the Earth element is deficient, it may cause:
- Weak bones and brittle nails
- Anxiety and insecurity
- Poor muscle tone and weakness
- Dry skin and hair loss
The Water element represents fluidity, cohesion, and nourishment. It governs bodily fluids like blood, lymph, and saliva, ensuring smooth physiological functions. Water is essential for hydration, lubrication, and emotional balance.
When the Water element is excessive, it can lead to:
- Edema and water retention
- Excess mucus and congestion
- Sluggish digestion and Kapha-related disorders
- Emotional heaviness, attachment, and lethargy
When the Water element is deficient, it may cause:
- Dehydration and dry skin
- Joint stiffness and lack of lubrication
- Emotional instability and anxiety
- Poor circulation and fatigue
The Fire element governs transformation, digestion, metabolism, and intelligence. It is responsible for converting food into energy, processing thoughts, and maintaining body temperature. Fire provides clarity, ambition, and vitality, but when imbalanced, it can lead to excess heat and intensity.
When the Fire element is excessive, it can cause:
- Acidity, heartburn, and ulcers
- Inflammation and skin rashes
- Irritability, anger, and impatience
- Excessive thirst and sweating
When the Fire element is deficient, it may lead to:
- Slow digestion and bloating
- Low energy and sluggish metabolism
- Poor circulation and cold extremities
- Lack of motivation and mental fog
The Air element governs movement, circulation, and communication. It is responsible for the flow of breath, nerve impulses, and thoughts. Air provides lightness, agility, and adaptability, but when imbalanced, it can lead to instability and dryness.
When the Air element is excessive, it can cause:
- Anxiety, restlessness, and overthinking
- Dry skin, constipation, and bloating
- Joint pain and stiffness
- Irregular appetite and digestion
When the Air element is deficient, it may lead to:
- Sluggish circulation and fatigue
- Mental dullness and lack of creativity
- Slow digestion and heaviness
- Poor mobility and stiffness
The Ether element represents space, expansiveness, and subtlety. It is the most refined of the five elements, providing the foundation for all movement and existence. Ether governs emptiness, creativity, and intuition, allowing thoughts, sounds, and energy to flow freely.
When the Ether element is excessive, it can lead to:
- Feeling disconnected or ungrounded
- Difficulty concentrating or mental fog
- Loss of voice or hearing issues
- Excessive weight loss and depletion
When the Ether element is deficient, it may cause:
- Rigid thinking and lack of imagination
- Feeling stuck or overly attached to material things
- Difficulty expressing oneself
- A sense of heaviness or stagnation

Ayurveda is an ancient holistic healing system from India that focuses on balancing the body, mind, and spirit through natural remedies, diet, and lifestyle practices.
Ayurveda offers a holistic approach to managing a wide range of disorders by balancing the body’s natural energies (doshas) and addressing root causes rather than just symptoms. This could be anything from digestive disorders (e.g. IBS, bloating, constipation, acidity), hormonal imbalances (e.g. infertility, low libido), inflammatory conditions (e.g. arthritis, tonsillitis, colitis, dermatitis), mental health issues (e.g. anxiety, depression) insomnia, stress, metabolic disorders (e.g. weight gain, obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol), skin conditions (e.g. eczema, psoriasis, rosacea) or respiratory issues (e.g. asthma, allergies, congestion).
No, I am not and don’t claim to be a medical doctor. My Ayurvedic advice is complementary to the allopathic treatment and does not replace it. You should always consult your GP if you have any serious or acute health concerns or are unsure of best treatment options.
I passed my Diploma in Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Nutrition with high distinction in June 2024 and am currently studying to become an Ayurvedic Practitioner (Level 2) at the Ayurveda Institute UK (due to complete in early 2026).
Of course, I’d be delighted to speak to you and answer any questions you might have. Please reach out via the ‘Contact me’ form on my website, or email me directly at hello@samayou.co.uk.
Most of my consultations take place online via Teams video calls. However, if you’re based in London and would prefer to meet face-to-face, please let me know and we can arrange this.
It depends on your circumstances, but ideally, I prefer working with someone over a period of several months. Learning Ayurvedic principles and developing a certain discipline around it takes some time, as it involves a shift in mindset and incorporating new habits. This is when the real magic happens. If you don’t have any big health issues and are just looking for a bit of general guidance to keep you on track, you might consider a one-off consultation or a shorter course. Reach out via the contact form or hello@samayou.co.uk to discuss the best option for you.
Yes, I can work with clients all over the world and have found online consultations to be just as effective as in-person ones. My mother tongue is German.
